pramod mahajan

I have never been a fanatic supporter of any political party. Ideology, if u ask me, are words for political oratory. (i always knew nobodys interested in askin me. thats y i blog). For me it is the personality that matters and whether he holds himself accountable for his actions(or atleast gives the appearance of doin so). And Pramod Mahajan positively falls in the category.

i am not a supporter of BJP. and yet for these past few days i have not been able to come to terms with the fact that a political survivor of sorts, a flambyont politician, a man who has a way with words should lie helpless in the ICU of Hinduja Hospital coz his brother decided to call and deal the shots in this relationship.

i do not know this personality personally. but it was very important for me to see the grieving family (not as i would do dispassionately at Indian Idol) not for anything but to share thier grief too. Pramod Mahajan had that unpalpable something that i think appeals to the urban citizen.

A disturbing question now clouds my thoughts . is it my imagination or is it really that any promising , young politician who is about to come into his own gets wiped out from the political map of india; any young politicial who has a little of that X factor that could get him the winning 5yr contract with the government of india. think of Rajesh Pilot, Madhav rao Scindia

You can add Rajiv Gandhi to the list too. He was perhaps younger than just about all the other "young" politicians who died. How about Haren Pandya (Gujarat)? I can't see any conspiracy in this though :)
